Barbara Trusley joined the California Building Standards Commission (CBSC) as an Office Technician in October 2017. In November 2019, Barbara promoted to Staff Services Analyst, in August 2022 she promoted to Associate Governmental Program Analyst, and in 2025 she promoted to Supervisor I. Barbara supervises members of CBSC’s administrative staff and oversees many day-to-day activities including the annual budget and BSASRF fund management, human resources, contracts and procurement, statewide education and outreach, IT requirements, and numerous other operational tasks that keep CBSC running smoothly.

 

Barbara joined CBSC from the private sector, where she worked as an installation program manager for retail projects.  During that time, she was responsible for overseeing the production flow, employee training, account management and ensuring compliance with Title 24 and International Code Council building codes.

 

Barbara is native to Northern California and enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs, as well as hiking, biking, gardening, cooking and crafts.
