Kristina Severon

Kristina Severon joined the California Building Standards Commission as an Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) in September 2025. She serves as the commission’s lead content author and webmaster, overseeing both the public website and intranet to ensure accessibility and compliance with ADA and web content guidelines. In addition to managing digital communications, Kristina supports CBSC’s legislative and budgetary work. She assists the legislative coordinator by reviewing bill analyses, tracking potential impacts to the department, and providing updates and recommendations to management. She also assists in developing and monitoring budget change concepts and proposals tied to legislation, analyzing fiscal data and cost studies to ensure the commission’s financial plan is accurate and sustainable.
Before joining CBSC, Kristina held various analytical and administrative roles within state service. These include with the California Highway Patrol as a Personnel Specialist, the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training as an Office Technician, and the California Victim Compensation Board as an AGPA.
A native Californian, Kristina is passionate about horticulture, with a focus on native plants. She enjoys traveling, volunteering within her community, and cherishes time with her family and pets. She is also an avid artist with a professional foundation in graphic and web design, photography, and vehicle graphics, blending creativity with public service.
