The Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) will hold a virtual focus group meeting to seek feedback on changes to the 2022 California Plumbing Code (Part 5, Title 24, California Code of Regulations). The changes are proposed as part of the 2022 Intervening Code Adoption Cycle and will be effective July 1, 2024, if approved by the California Building Standards Commission.

The agenda and any supporting documents will be available on the HCD website on the Building Code Development and Adoption webpage prior to the meeting.

    Focus Group Meeting — August 11, 2022 — 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) will hold a staff workshop to present draft regulatory concepts for onsite treatment and reuse of nonpotable water regulations.  State Water Board staff will provide a brief presentation prior to receiving comments at the staff workshop.

The agenda and detailed instructions for how to observe or participate in this workshop can be found on the State Water Board's website under the heading Regulations for Onsite Treatment and Reuse of Nonpotable Water.

The California Existing Building Code (CEBC) Workgroup meetings are being conducted by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (SFM) where the SFM, Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), California Building Standards Commission (CBSC) and the Division of the State Architect (DSA) staff discuss possible adoption of IEBC compliance paths for inclusion in the 2022 California Existing Building Code during the 2022 Intervening Code Adoption Cycle. The purpose of the meetings is to gather information/suggestions and support documentation (such as reports, costs, benefits, etc.) for code changes that may be considered and proposed by various state agencies during a code adoption cycle.

The public is invited to participate and provide input and comments. The Zoom meeting address, meeting dates and agenda will be provided on the SFM website.

    Pre-Cycle Activities for 2022

During the pre-cycle period of an Intervening Code Adoption Cycle, proposing state agencies hold public workshops to discuss possible supplemental amendments for the 2022 Code.  Workshops provide an open forum for the public and industry stakeholders to participate in vetting potential modifications to California's building codes.  Approved code changes will result in supplements (blue pages) to the 2022 edition of Title 24, and will become effective July 1, 2024.

    Non-BSC Pre-Cycle Activities

Other state agencies may also conduct pre-cycle workshops in which BSC is not actively involved.  You can find more information about their activities on their websites using the following links.
