The Employment Development Department vacated three old buildings, and the site was determined to be suitable for housing. The large, ± 1.46 acres will provide opportunities for open space and housing. This is the first phase of three phases.

Project Milestones

The Related Companies of California and the Weingart Center Association will develop the site. The housing units will be income restricted with Average Median Income limits as follows:

Phase I (Family Units) 

  • 105 units (one-, two- and three- bedroom units)
  • 20% - 60% AMI

The environmental review process is complete. A Notice of Exemption was filed: on December 14, 2022 with the State Clearinghouse, No. 2022120328
