Statewide Pharmaceutical Program
Pharmaceutical Acquisitions Section administers the Statewide Pharmaceutical Program (SPP). The SPP reduces the cost of pharmaceuticals by using the state's purchasing power to receive optimal pricing for pharmaceuticals and related pharmaceuticals services.
Any public agency or government entity is eligible to participate in this program. The SPP operates under Government Code Sections 14977-14982.

Provide a statewide pharmaceutical purchasing program and create innovative solutions to achieve the highest savings on prescription drugs and related services for state and local governmental entities.
