On April 10, 2023, DGS received a report of an individual associated with the building having a possible case of Legionnaires' disease. Out of an abundance of caution, DGS immediately closed the state building while we worked to confirm details with state and local public health officials. After extensive remediation efforts, the building was reopened on Monday, April 24, 2023. On January 23, 2024, following a case investigation by San Diego County Public Health, the state was notified that an elderly person in San Diego County was diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease and reported visiting the Mission Valley Building in December.  Below are various documents and information pertaining to the Legionella action plan for this building.
