Top there are 4 hands signing a different letter. Below it says National ASL Day April 15th

American Sign Language Day is observed annually on April 15th and celebrates the language and culture around American Sign Language (ASL). ASL day shows the importance of ASL as a language and as a means of communication for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals worldwide.

ASL Day was officially recognized by the United States in 2019 from a congressional resolution by Representatives Mark Takano and David Cicilline. April 15th was picked for ASL Day because it is the anniversary of the founding of the American School for the Deaf that opened in 1817. ASL is a tool for communication with its own grammar and cultural norms. ASL Day honors the cultural diversity of Deaf communities and promotes understanding and inclusion for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
