AB 32 Policy Delivers Major Climate Milestone
July 11, 2018: California reached a key milestone—emissions fell below 1990 levels for the first time.
This outcome demonstrates the success of long-term policy planning and cross-agency implementation led by AB 32.
The Facilities Management Division (FMD) reduces landfill waste and reduces methane emissions by supporting recycling.
- In 2018, DGS created the AO-18-01 Policy. This DGS policy requires organic waste recycling in buildings located in cities where haulers provide organic waste recycling services.
