Enroll in Defensive Driver Training
State agencies can enroll in Defensive Driver Training (DDT) that was developed to help reduce the number, severity, and cost of vehicle-related collisions.
About the Course:
This two-hour interactive training equips employees with essential defensive driving techniques and covers:
- Safe driving practices and rules of the road
- Required forms for state travel
- Accident response procedures
- An overview of telematics devices
Note: This course satisfies the requirement under SAM 0752 but does not count toward the 20-hour biennial leadership training requirement outlined in CalHR Policy 2801.
Important Notice Regarding Defensive Driver Training Enrollment
This training is intended exclusively for current State of California employees and civil servants. If you are not a state employee, please do not attempt to register. Submissions from individuals outside of State service will not be processed and may result in delays for eligible participants. Please ensure that you use your official State of California, or civil service business email address, when creating your CalLearns account.
