Summary:
The Real Estate Services Division (RESD), Project Management and Development Branch (PMDB), is requesting submittals from Forensic Engineering firms to provide professional forensic engineering consultant services for new, addition, repair, modification, or replacement type projects within Northern, Southern and Coastal California. Contractor shall be competent in the design and analysis of building structures and components containing concrete, steel, masonry, and wood materials. Work performed shall comply with all applicable State codes and regulations, in particular as they relate to seismic conditions.
Forensic Architecture and Engineering shall include, but not be limited to: the detection, diagnosis, identification of the cause, effects and remedy of building/equipment defects and or failures and of building related environmental complaints or hazards using physical evidence and scientific methods. Sample projects include water intrusion, corrosion, settlement, material failures, design and construction defect analysis, mold accumulation, code analysis, preparation of remediation construction documents and support during construction. Consultants work may include the preparation of design documents (plans and specifications), estimates, as-builts reports, etc. associated with consultants work.
Related services may include but not be limited to providing hazardous materials assessments, surveys, reports, abatement design plans/specifications, cost estimates and air monitoring associated with the above work. Consultants work may also require the participation of other engineering related disciplines such as, architecture, civil, electrical, structural, and mechanical.
All work shall be performed under and approved by a design professional licensed in the State of California.
The estimated retainer contract value is $5,000,000.00. The estimated duration of this contract will be five (5) years.
