DSA ACC Member, Mark Zambon

Mark Zambon, selected to represent individuals with disabilities, served for eleven years and was deployed to combat zones six times in the US Marine Corps. A roadside bomb detonated under his feet during his sixth combat tour, resulting in bilateral, above-knee amputations. After his recovery, he returned to active duty where he taught bomb disposal wearing prosthetic legs and combat boots.
Zambon studied psychology in his undergraduate studies at Sacramento State, graduating with honors. There he worked as a research assistant in a neuroscience research cohort studying the impact PTSD has on the frontal brain region and on impulsivity, decision-making, and judgment. He is currently a second-year law school student working to create a team of attorneys that provide pro-bono criminal legal defense for veterans with PTSD facing the criminal legal system.
