Classification: Information Technology Specialist II

Salary Range: $8,374.00 - $11,220.00 per Month
Position Summary: Fulfills the duties responsible for risk management, compliance management, systems security planning, development of security policies and procedures, and collaboration with security operations and other units within the Enterprise Technology Solutions (ETS) of DGS in order to ensure business success throughout all phases of the System/ Software Development Life Cycle.
- Conducts independent comprehensive analysis and assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls and control enhancements employed within or inherited by an information technology on system to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls (as defined in NIST SP 800-37 and NIST SP 800-53).
- Provides expertise on the performance of extensive risk assessments on the most complex information systems and mission critical applications in all DGS IT environments, ensures regulated systems' compliance with an extensive set of federal, state, and industry regulations governing the protection of health information, federal tax information, and other notice triggering personally identifiable information by Reviewing security evaluations of DGS systems/applications, documenting risk findings in a Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM), driving POAM items to closure, and reporting progress to internal and external stakeholders in order to help DGS programs to maintain legal compliance and avoid or minimize adverse impact to DGS stakeholders. Recommend Corrective Action Plan (CAP) and follows up for timely resolution.
- Collaborates with the ISO, Enterprise Architects and DGS executives and staff by coordinating and preparing appropriate reporting, dashboards and related information in order to properly communicate compliance/security standards and to ensure DGS cloud computing assets are in compliance with established or future compliance/security standards for the department and it's customers.
- Acts as a lead on Security Incident Response Team (SIRTI efforts, in collaboration with vendors and impacted stakeholders, to ensure accurate and timely incident resolution by properly following procedures throughout the incident handling process of identification/investigation, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned in accordance with DGS Information Security and Privacy Incident Management Plan.
- Leads independent research and studies and attend job-related educational workshops and trainings in order to maintain professional and technical knowledge of new technologies and to ensure the continuing development of solutions that are maintainable, extensible, optimized, and secure.

Position Summary: Acts as the team leader and subject matter expert on the enterprise firewalls and network infrastructure for DGS, leading the design, implementation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and administration of the enterprise Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls and network infrastructure.
- Designs, implements, configures, and maintains network and firewall infrastructure across Enterprise and Cloud platforms by designing and implementing switching, routing, and firewall solutions and procedures, and advising ETS management, architects and vendors on the most sensitive issues, in order to support and secure the enterprise network environment and to ensure effective performance and securing of enterprise wide applications, utilizing Palo Alto Networks.
- Collaborates with the Enterprise Network Architect in designing innovative network solutions by analyzing and maintaining the network environments, and enterprise firewalls, coordinates infrastructure systems specifications, performing upgrades and maintenance, and resolving the most complex technical issues for the Palo Alto Networks infrastructure, utilizing collected data, patching firmware and version upgrades in order to sustain a supportable and uniform network infrastructure for DGS department wide.
- Develops and implements product and process improvements to the technology and physical network by creating process documentation regarding technology infrastructure department wide, reviewing, researching, and evaluating technology products and services for procurement of future enhancements, and providing sound recommendations to ETS management, architects, and staff in order to ensure DGS' infrastructures are continuously enhanced and current for planning of the overall organizational IT Strategy.
- Resolves network and firewall issues enterprise wide by providing expert technical support to the DGS Help Desk team, satellite offices and mobile workforce, participating and assisting in the implementation, installation, upgrading, testing, monitoring and troubleshooting of the physical network infrastructure, and reviewing and monitoring the technical environment to ensure continuous uninterrupted and secure operation of products, and to ensure the performance of the network systems for DGS department wide.

Position Summary: Responsible for performing a wide range of advanced security tasks to ensure the protection and integrity of DGS's information systems. This role requires expertise in SIEM engineering, threat intelligence, threat hunting, and leading incident response staff in complex situations.
- Monitors, collects, and analyzes cyber threat intelligence from various internal and external sources; Reviews and assesses the relevance and impact of cyber threats to the DGS's systems, networks, and assets; Prepares concise and actionable threat intelligence reports and briefings for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for proactive defense measures. Stay updated on the latest threat landscape, emerging attack vectors, and industry best practices to continuously enhance the DGS's security posture; Conducts proactive hunting activities to identify and mitigate advanced threats that may bypass traditional security controls; Utilizes advanced tools, techniques, and methodologies to detect indicators of compromise (IOCs), anomalous activities, and potential security incidents; Collaborates with the incident response team to investigate and respond to identified threats, ensuring timely containment and eradication.

- Designs, configures, and maintains the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) infrastructure to effectively detect and respond to security incidents; Develops and optimizes SIEM rules, alerts, and correlation rules to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of threat detection; Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate log sources and ensure comprehensive event monitoring across the organization's systems and networks; Conducts regular assessments and audits of the SIEM infrastructure to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend necessary improvements.

- Acts as a technical lead for the cybersecurity incident response team(CSIRT) and the Security Operations Unit, in handling the most complex and critical security incidents, providing guidance, direction, and support; Coordinates and oversees incident response activities, including evidence collection, analysis, and mitigation efforts; Collaborates with stakeholders from various teams, such as IT member from ETS, legal, privacy and management, to ensure effective incident response coordination and communication; Identifies lessons learned from security incidents and contribute to the continuous improvement of incident response processes and procedures; Identifies areas for improvement in security operations, incident response procedures, and threat intelligence processes; Proposes and implements enhancements to security technologies, tools, and methodologies.
