The transportation sector is the largest contributor of greenhouse gas emissions in California. Executive Order B-16-2012 directs state entities to facilitate rapid commercialization of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs). The state has established a variety of leveraged procurement agreements covering commodities associated with transportation such as electric vehicle charging stations, safety equipment, vehicles, and fuel. The key considerations are reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting products made with postconsumer recycled content, and promoting ZEVs.
