IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING SERVICE OF PROCESS

Due to COVID-19, effective April 10, 2020 and until further notice, the Department of General Services—Office of Legal Services is receiving service of process documents and subpoenas electronically at Patricia.Galvan@dgs.ca.gov.

Please note that our authority is limited to accepting service of process only on behalf of DGS and its divisions, including the Division of the State Architect, the Office of Administrative Hearings, and DGS officers named in their official capacity.

Documents and subpoenas directed to the “State of California” must be served on the Office of the Attorney General (the Attorney General’s Sacramento office is located at 1300 I Street).You are encouraged to verify that DGS—OLS is the proper office for service by contacting Patricia Galvan at (916) 376-5098.

If we determine that DGS—OLS has authority to accept service, we will so inform you and the issuing attorney via a responding email acknowledging that we have consented to receiving service electronically.
