The Division of the State Architect (DSA) is pleased to introduce Eric Driever, AIA, CASp as the new Principal Architect in Headquarters over the Architectural Codes & Policy Team. As Principal Architect, Driever oversees the Access Compliance, Fire & Life Safety, Sustainability, and Certified Access Specialist (CASp) programs, as well as the DSA Academy training program for these disciplines.

Driever comes to DSA from the Department of General Services, Real Estate Services Division. There, he managed the Access Barrier Removal Program. Notable roles also include being the Architect of Record for the Sleep Train Arena conversion to an emergency hospital last year at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to state service, Driever served as a Project Architect and Project Manager for ten years at Williams + Paddon Architects + Planners in Roseville where he worked on public school facility projects. Driever completed his Bachelor of Architecture at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
