New DSA Bulletins

The Division of the State Architect (DSA) announces two new bulletins, BU 22-01: 2019 Pre-Check Extension and Renewals to the 2022 CBC and BU 22-02: Submittals Utilizing the 2022 California Building Standards Code (Title 24, Part 1 Through 12) Prior to the Effective Date.

The purpose of BU 22-01 is to provide adequate time for building manufacturers to prepare pre-check (PC) plans utilizing the 2022 California Building Code (CBC) and obtain DSA approval before required use of 2022 PC plans due to adoption of the 2022 CBC.

The purpose of BU 22-02 is to announce that DSA will consider requests, on a case-by-case basis, to voluntarily utilize the 2022 California codes for projects submitted for plan review prior to the effective date of such codes. The effective date of the 2022 Title 24 codes is Jan. 1, 2023, except for the California Administrative Code (Title 24, Part 1, Chapter 4) which became effective on Mar. 5, 2022.
