DSA invites you to apply for an opening for a Senior Architect in our Oakland, CA Regional office. The DSA Sustainability Unit is looking for CA-licensed architects to fill the role of a Regional Sustainability Architect. DSA acts as California’s policy leader for building design and construction for K-12 public schools and Community Colleges, as well as the enforcement agency, as such, is responsible forpromulgating the California Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen) for California K-12 schools and Community Colleges.

The successful candidate for the position will be part of a team responsible for the implementation and development of the Headquarters Architectural Codes and Policies, Sustainable Schools Program, for K-12 public schools and community colleges. The duties for this position include providing assistance to local school districts on a broad range of topics relating to sustainability as well as interpreting and enforcing and assisting in the development of regulations in order to resolve issues and promote consistent solutions to align with California climate and energy goals and which align with DSA’s oversight of schools projects. The successful candidate will be joining a team of dedicated and knowledgeable architects and engineers, and work collaboratively to develop policies, training curriculum, and building regulations.
