Commissioner Dr. Sue ElHessen was honored by the Bellflower City Council and Supervisor Janice Hahn’s office this month in recognition of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 33rd anniversary. ADA Awareness Day is on July 26th and brings an opportunity to raise awareness about the ADA, educate the public about disability rights, and highlight the progress achieved in enhancing accessibility and eliminating barriers for individuals with disabilities.

The recognition of Commissioner Dr. ElHessen shows the significance of collaborative efforts in ensuring accessibility and equal opportunities for all. While celebrating these achievements, it is important to recognize the progress that still needs to be made to achieve access for all. By acknowledging community efforts toward inclusion, everyone benefits.
