ENDORSEMENTS - 8160
Pursuant to Government Code section 17050, any person authorized to make payments from a revolving fund may perform the following without requiring a power of attorney from the employee:
- Endorse an agency check or a State Controller’s Office warrant payable to an employee owing money to the department’s revolving fund.
- Deposit the check or warrant into the revolving fund as reimbursement.
- Pay any remaining balance to the employee.
Departments shall not deposit salary warrants before their issue date. The State Treasurer's Office (STO) accepts salary warrants only on or after the issue date.
The STO authorizes the use of the following endorsement when endorsing a check or warrant, pursuant to Government Code section 17050:

Departments will follow the above endorsement with the endorsement used to deposit checks and warrants in the centralized State Treasury System. For an example of the endorsement, see SAM Section 8034.1.
