Summary

The Department of General Services (DGS), in partnership with the Department of Technology, have mobilized three employee Hub Space sites for state agencies and departments to consider in their workplace ecosystem for their employees.

A Hub Space is a multi-user (department), shared office-space environment that is intended for ad hoc use by state employees. Hub Spaces are ideal when a department has employees in a location in which they do not have a dedicated space, where those employees are teleworking four to five days per week, but need occasional access to an office.

Workplace reservation process, badging, and building information

DGS is utilizing ServiceNow Workplace Reservation Management for workspace reservations and to provide communication to participating employees pertaining to the Hub Space. Upon enrollment into the workplace reservation system, each participating employee will be able to reserve a workspace at a Hub Space.

Each time an employee plans to use a Hub Space, they will need to reserve a workspace in advance using the workplace reservation system. Availability is not guaranteed unless a workspace has been reserved.

Hub Space Requests

Hubs are not appropriate for all departmental space needs, and departments are required to first consider existing office space before requesting to utilize a Hub. If a department believes that a Hub is an appropriate solution to a space need, submit a CRUISE request indicating the need and a DGS team member will reach out to discuss the need. Please note that CRUISE requests should not be submitted by individuals looking for space. Individual state employees with a need for office space must communicate with management within their department, and a CRUISE request should only be submitted by appropriate departmental personnel.

For more information on submitting a Global CRUISE please go to the Request Real Estate Services for State Agencies page.
