Fish feeding on food

California manages diverse fish, wildlife, plant resources, and the habitats upon which they depend. These efforts promote ecological values that support the public use and enjoyment of these resources. Alternative proteins in fish feed have been added to the statewide contract as a means to mitigate the limited global supply of fish meal and fish oil used in the fish farming industry.

To promote Governor’s Executive Order N-19-19 the state can now use the contract below containing a non-fish alternative protein. Reduces the state’s demand of wild-caught fish used to make fish feed.
