Furniture
The state strives to procure furniture that has a reduced impact on the environment and human health. Restricting chemical additives in furniture may reduce impacts to indoor air quality. Furniture made with recycled content materials help promote waste diversion and conservation of natural resources. Furthermore, products with environmental ecolabels may help state buildings obtain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification.
These contracts are considered "green" because they offer furniture products with ecolabels, recycled content, and State Agency Buy Recycled Campaign compliance. These criteria help promote more sustainable practices within the entire furniture industry.
