Governor Gavin Newsom, joined by students, teachers, public health and public safety leaders, signed Assembly Bill (AB) 48 by Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell (D-Long Beach) and Senator Steve Glazer (D-Orinda) at a Ethel I. Elementary School in Sacramento on Monday, October 7, 2019. AB 48 will place the largest school construction bond in the state’s history on the March 2020 ballot. The $15 billion bond will prioritize school construction projects for the schools and districts most in need, and would benefit preschools, K-12 public schools, and higher education students for generations to come.
