California Building Standards 2027 Triennial Code Adoption Cycle Process
The deadlines for state agencies to submit code changes to CBSC for the various publishers will be announced when the 2027 cycle is closer. The proposed code changes include adoption of the 2027 editions of the ICC and IAPMO model codes and the 2026 edition of the NEC. The proposed code change submittals, including the text of the proposed changes and a detailed justification, and the phases of the 2027 Triennial Code Adoption Cycle will be available through links on the right. These code changes will result in the 2028 edition of the California Building Standards Code, Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations, effective January 1, 2029.
