2016 Intervening Code Adoption Cycle

Notice of 45-Day Public Comment Period April 28–June 12, 2017

The California Building Standards Commission's Code Advisory Committees review and make recommendations on proposed changes, submitted by state agencies, to California's building codes. The following designated comment periods provide opportunity for public review and comment concerning proposed changes (by subject matter) to the California Building Standards Code (Cal. Code Regs., Tit. 24). Adopted changes are scheduled for publication as a Supplement on January 1, 2018, with an effective date of July 1, 2018.

All comments for the state agency proposals must be submitted to the commission no later than midnight on the last day of the public comment period. Due to the volume of comments received, CBSC cannot guarantee that all comments are posted on this website.  While every attempt is made to include all submissions online, it is not required by statute or regulation. Note: only comments received in an accessible format will be viewable via CBSC's website. Contact CBSC for a copy of non-viewable comments. Use the e-Comment form to ensure accessibility.
