Veronica Ligia Turdean, Associate construction analyst and the Chapter 11A Code Access Specialist for the Department of Housing and Community Development. I hold the ex-officio member representing Housing and Community Development.

Since I am the accessibility specialist representing Housing and Community Development, I will inform our code development team of any upcoming changes related to Chapter 11B and future coordinate changes in Chapter 11A to not conflict but harmonize with each other. This collaboration will diminish codes conflicts and minimize confusion among the enforcing agencies and code users when applying or interpreting the code.

I have a bachelor’s degree in interior architecture from Sacramento State University, an associate degree in Space Planning from American River College, and a teaching degree with an emphasis in Child Psychology.

As a Chapter 11A subject matter specialist, I act in an advisory capacity on California Building Standards Code (CBSC) requirements related to housing accessibility/adaptability and related provisions for applicable multifamily residential construction, maintenance, use, and occupancy. Previously I worked as an architectural assistant for the California Building Standards Commission, responsible for performing reviews of proposed building standards from State agencies for their technical merit, codifying approved standards, coordinating, and managing technical committee meetings, and responding to inquiries from other State agencies and the public concerning building standards. Throughout the years, I have owned other positions in the architecture field, as an Associate Space Planner with DGS, as an architectural designer with CGL, and others, helping design spaces for state agencies.

Throughout my career, I have gained a wide variety of experiences in the design industry.
