The Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) is a quasi-judicial tribunal. OAH is divided into two, statewide divisions. They are the General Jurisdiction Division and the Special Education Division. Click here of a list of OAH's divisions, offices and administrative law judges.
The General Jurisdiction Division has four regional offices. They are located in Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento and San Diego. This division hears cases throughout California pursuant to the Administrative Procedures Act (APA), contracts and interagency agreements for over 1,000 State, county, city and local government agencies.
The Special Education Division has three regional offices. They are located in Laguna Hills, Sacramento and Van Nuys. It is estimated that there are over 700,000 children with special needs in California's schools. OAH provides adjudicatory, mediation and settlement services throughout the state to school districts and parents of these special needs children.
Web Cast of Special Education Advisory Committee Meetings
For the first time, the Department of General Services' Office of Administrative Hearings will feature a live Web cast of the bi-annual Special Education Advisory Committee meetings on Wednesday, October 15, and October 22, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Participants are invited to submit questions and comments that will be shared with the board members live during the meeting.
