Digital Print provides Professional Digital Printing to all State agencies. Digital Print is ideal for small run (less than 5000 copies), quick turn-around, variable data and transactional print projects. OSP Digital prints in black and white and full color, has full bindery, mail inserting and mailing services.

Variable Data Printing

OSP’s variable data printing (VDP) is a direct outgrowth of digital printing, which harnesses computer databases and digital print devices and highly effective software to create high-quality, full color documents, with a look and feel of offset printing. VDP enables the customization of documents via digital print technology, from projects as simple as business card to unique documents for each customer.

Transaction Printing

OSP’s transactional printing system is attached to a computer database and many similar pages are printed; each, for example, with a different person's data filling the form such as a monthly statement or notification letter. Simply stated, transaction printing is the printing of multiple transactions for each customer along with the fixed line details like name and address. Transaction printing jobs are similar to, but often more complex than variable data printing jobs such as mail merge.

Interagency Mail & Messenger Service (IMS) provides daily mail service between State offices in the greater Sacramento area including Elk Grove and Rancho Cordova. The IMS also provides messenger service on either a prescheduled or as needed basis. Legislative Bill Room (LBR) is part of the Office of State Publishing (OSP) in the Department of General Services. OSP Provides printing services for the California State Legislature, producing printed copies of the publications and recordings of legislative procedures on a daily basis.

State Records Center (SRC) provides economical and efficient storage of all your agencies important records. SRC assists state agencies in resolving problems or issues concerning storage, requests, transfer lists, and shipments of records. SRC has vault storage for vital or essential records, record retrieval via the internet, emergency record retrieval and record management consultation. SRC operates as an economical storage of records which must be retained, but which need not be kept in high cost office areas.

SRC has vault facilities for permanent storage of the state’s vital or essential records in case of disaster. SRC management consultants are available through Master Service Agreements (MSA). MSA provides for evaluation of records management programs by pre-qualified contractors. State agencies, cities, counties, special districts, and public education institutions may use this contract.
