State Officials Announce Completion of California’s New ‘Green’ Central Plant Steelwork: State and Consumer Services Agency (SCSA) Secretary Rosario Marin and Department of General Services (DGS) Director Will Bush announced today that the steelwork is complete on the state's new "green" central plant. Green Means Gold for State Buildings - The California Department of General Services announced April 8, 2008 that four state-owned health services buildings located at the Capitol Area East End Complex have earned a Gold rating from the USGBC for "green" building operations and maintenance practices. Career Technical Education Grants - Office of Public School Construction Executive Officer Rob Cook, joined Victoria Bradshaw, Secretary for the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency and Patrick Godwin, Superintendent of the Folsom Cordova Unified School District on April 2, 2008 to announce that the State Allocation Board (SAB) had awarded $199 million in grants and loans to build or modernize career technical education facilities at high schools throughout the state.
