The Office of Risk and Insurance Management (ORIM) provides to state agencies, the following risk management services which are funded through an annual assessment:

  • Review and advise on insurance requirements contained within:
    •      Construction Contracts
    •      Service Contracts
    •      Lease Contracts
    •      Bond Indentures
  • Analysis and development of strategies to control and reduce losses
  • Ongoing analysis of the most effective method for funding losses experienced by the state
  • Issuance of self-insurance letters
  • Assistance with contract negotiations with State Compensation Insurance Fund for the administration of workers' compensation claims
  • Review of and make recommendation on risk management and insurance legislation impacting departments
  • ORIM also provides on an hourly and/or project-driven basis, other risk management services
