Governor Appoints New Executive Officer to OPSC
Lisa Silverman, 45, of Pilot Hill, has been appointed executive officer for the Office of Public School Construction at the California Department of General Services, where she has served as acting executive officer since 2010. Silverman served as senior management auditor and chief of fiscal services at the Office of Public School Construction from 2006 to 2010 and was a business tax specialist and associate tax auditor for the Board of Equalization from 1997 to 2006. She was an associate tax auditor and hearing officer for the Franchise Tax Board from 1984 to 1997.

State Eases Rules for Schools to Tap Seismic Retrofit Monies
The State Allocation Board (SAB) has made it easier for school districts to access $194.8 million in unused seismic retrofit funds. At its monthly meeting last night, the SAB amended the School Facility Program (SFP) regulations for the Seismic Mitigation Program; removing shaking intensity benchmarks and refocusing the criteria to direct funds toward potentially vulnerable schools. “Governor Brown wanted to ensure that the SAB provided greater access for schools to seismic retrofit monies,” said Pedro Reyes, State Allocation Board Chair.

 $40.6 Million for Shovel-Ready School Construction Projects
The State Allocation Board (SAB) announced that it has allocated $40.6 million for "shovel-ready" school construction projects across the state. These state matching funds will help finance 18 school construction projects, including construction of additional classrooms and modernization of existing facilities, within 13 school districts.

The State Allocation Board (SAB) announced that it has allocated $103.8 million for “shovel-ready” school construction projects across the state. These state matching funds will help finance 26 school construction projects within 19 school districts.

State Announces $1.4 Billion for Shovel-Ready School
The State Allocation Board (SAB) announced that it has allocated $1.4 billion for “shovel-ready” school construction projects across the state. These state matching funds will help finance 442 school construction projects within 137 school districts, resulting in substantial job creation.

Release of Funds for First Round of Shovel-Ready Prioritization for School Construction Funding
The State Allocation Board (SAB) today announced that $408 million has been released for 78 school construction projects statewide. These projects are shovel-ready projects to build new schools and modernize old facilities. Under the Priorities in School Construction Funding program, the construction projects must begin work within three months.

Governor Schwarzenegger Announces New Priority Rules for Shovel-Ready Local School Facility Project
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced today the State Allocation Board (SAB) has taken action to prioritize state funding from the Governor’s Strategic Growth Plan for shovel-ready school construction projects helping to put Californians to work now. This decision will make $408 million in Proposition 1D funds accessible to school districts throughout the state that are able to break ground on approved projects within two to three months of receipt of a funding apportionment.
