SB 493 Dispositions To Public Computer Centers
INTRODUCTION – STATE OWNED SURPLUS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DISPOSITIONS TO PUBLIC COMPUTER CENTERS
In order to facilitate Public Contract Code Section 10389.2 (SB 493, Padilla, 2011) which aims to bridge the digital divide throughout California as described in Public Utilities Code Section 709(d), the Department of General Services State Surplus Property Program has assembled the following information to assist both State Agencies and Public Computer Centers. By way of this new statute, State Agencies are now authorized to provide surplus state owned information technology equipment to qualified Public Computer Centers for less than fair market value. The law requires that Public Computer Centers must be on record as a partner with a school district located in California. Please click on the appropriate link for additional and specific information.
