Bidder and Payment Information

Bidding begins by filling out and submitting a Bidder Data Sheet (available in the Auction Cashiering office) on the day of the auction to register and obtain a bidder paddle. A Bidder Data Sheet must be filled out for every auction. Note: New bidders (or those who have not obtained a bidder paddle in a while) will need to show photo identification to register for a bidder paddle.

VISA, MasterCard, Discover, Cashier's or Certified Checks, and Money Orders are the only accepted forms of payment. No cash or personal checks accepted.

Items with a status of "Ready" versus "Not Ready" are more likely to be available for bid in the current auction. Visit this site a week to a couple of days before every auction for an accurate list.

A list of the 'Firing Order' (list of vehicles to be auctioned, and the order in which they will be sold) will be linked here a few days before the live auction. The list will be available as a PDF document that can be printed and brought to the auction for your use.

America Express (AMEX) Notice

Effective immediately, the Department of General Services (DGS), Office of Fleet and Asset Management (OFAM) can no longer accept American Express (AMEX) as a payment method. This action affects the following:

  1. Payment for personal property acquired at the Surplus Property auction, 1700 National Drive, Sacramento, CA 95834.
  2. Payment for personal property acquired at the DGS OFAM vehicle and equipment auction yard. 5950 Chiles Road, Davis CA. 95618.
  3. Initial payment for State Employee Parking.
  4. Payments for Van Pool program.
  5. Payment for short term, non-State Employee, Contractor Parking.
  6. Payment for parking by a State Employee while out on extended leave such as maternity or medical leave where a warrant is not issued.

These restriction must be adhered to until OFAM has a valid payment mechanism in place for AMEX. Notification will be sent once the merchant acceptance agreement is available.
