Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations, also known as the California Building Standards Code, contains the regulations that govern the construction of buildings in California. Title 21 of the California Code of Regulations contains regulations governing the Certified Access Specialist program. DSA participates in the development of regulations through the code adoption cycle, and provides additional clarification of application regulations through its Interpretations of Regulations Manual.

DSA-Structural Safety (DSA-SS) - DSA-SS adopts and amends Title 24 Building Standards applicable to K-12 public schools, Community Colleges and State Essential Services Buildings.
DSA-Access Compliance (DSA-AC) - DSA-AC develops and maintains the accessibility standards and codes used in public and private buildings throughout California.
DSA also incorporates the offices of the independent State Historical Building Safety Board, caretaker of California's State Historical Building Code.
The Division of the State Architect publishes manuals, bulletins, policies and procedures in carrying out various DSA programs. DSA’s Uniform Standards and Procedures Terminology provides definitions of the types of documents promulgated and enforced by DSA for use in the plan and field review of projects under its jurisdiction.
DSA Academy - DGS’ Division of the State Architect offers training through the DSA Academy to promote consistent knowledge and application of the California Building Codes and regulations needed for successful plan review and construction of projects under the jurisdiction of DSA.
