DGS Equipment Management Program cuts costs
By DGS Public Affairs on
12/19/2011 6:45 AM
Through its Office of Risk and Insurance Management (ORIM), DGS has saved state agencies more than $770,000 by consolidating individual office equipment maintenance contracts into one master insurance program. Launched in 2010, the Equipment Maintenance Management Program (EMMP) allows departments to maintain their vendor of choice and the same service levels. Immediate savings of 25 percent are realized as the program uses a time and materials basis thereby eliminating the extensive mark-up seen in traditional service contracts.
