Gov. Brown Thanks DGS Employee for State Service

Governor Brown met with the Department of General Services’ May Lee at the Capitol today to congratulate her on seven decades of state service.
The governor presented May with a letter of appreciation for her service to the people of California and talked for about ten minutes, discussing everything from current projects May is working on for DGS, to the days when May worked under the governor’s father during the Edmund G. “Pat” Brown administration.
May started her state career in 1943 as an accounting officer with the Department of Finance before moving to the Department of General Services in 1963. She celebrates her 92
nd birthday later this month.
