Miles Burnett, Deputy Director - Administration Division

Miles Burnett serves as the Deputy Director of Administration for the Department of General Services. 

Mr. Burnett has more than 19 years of experience in financial and administrative management and has held various positions in state government through his career, including serving as the Chief Financial Officer for the Department of General Services, Deputy Executive Officer of the Administration and Finance Division at the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board, and as the Assistant Deputy Director of the Division of Administrative Services at the State Water Resources Control Board.

Mr. Burnett has also managed fee revenue programs for the State Water Resources Control Board and the Department of Toxic Substances Control, analyzed legislation for the Department of Toxic Substances Control, audited government programs for the Bureau of State Audits, and served on the California Performance Review evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of government programs. Mr. Burnett also spent several years in the private sector working as a financial analyst at companies including JD Edwards, PMI, and Unisys Corporation.

Mr. Burnett holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton, a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Colorado State University.
