FACT SHEET : SAN FRANCISCO CIVIC CENTER COMPLEX
SCOPE:
Two parts: (1) rehabilitation of the historic Earl Warren Building, 350 McAllister Street, closed after the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake; and (2) construction of the Hiram W. Johnson State Office Building to replace existing seven-story office at 455 Golden Gate Avenue.
  
PROGRAM:
Consolidates 18 state leases located throughout San Francisco. Saves the state over $500 million over 30 years.
  
SIZE:
Approximately one million gross square feet
  
STORIES:
Earl Warren Building – 6 stories
  
Hiram Johnson State Office Building – 14 stories
  
EMPLOYEES:
Over 2,100
  
TENANTS:
11 agencies including: State Supreme Court, Administrative Office of the Courts, First Appellate District Court, Secretary of State, Board of Equalization, Franchise Tax Board, Department of Justice, Department of Industrial Relations, Fair Employment and Housing Department, Fair Employment and Housing Commission, and the Commission on Judicial Performance.
