Sacramento — During the upcoming 1998 Silicon Valley Information Technology Expositions and Conferences (ITEC) Expo December 15-16 at San Jose’s McEnery Convention Center, the state Department of General Services (DGS) will showcase the important role imaging and records management technologies play in helping government agencies work more efficiently. DGS representatives will show attendees how DGS serves state and local government customers with an array of information technology products and services.
"The ITEC Expo provides an excellent opportunity for government employees to learn about the latest records and imaging technologies," said Chuck Grady, DGS Procurement Division Deputy Director. "These innovations have brought efficiency to the workplace by providing faster access to information, reduced storage space, and better customer service."
A series of free workshops sponsored by DGS will be held both days of the event, including presentations on the state’s innovative imaging programs and projects, business process automation, records management e-mail solutions, handwritten "digital signature" solutions, and the latest on electronic commerce technology.
The ITEC Expo features the largest gathering of public- and private-sector information technology managers, telecommunications directors, and purchasing managers in Silicon Valley, as well executives from the region's leading small- and medium-sized information technology businesses. More than 120 exhibitors will showcase the latest in cutting-edge technologies through seminars and displays.
Pre-registration can be done via the ITEC Expo web site at (www.asmcorp.com). Registration is $10 at the door, which covers admission and all conferences. Complimentary passes to the ITEC Expo are available from DGS. Contact (916) 322-8904.
